Biography
Phil Hall’s first poetry collection, Eighteen Poems (1973), was published while he was still an undergraduate at the University of Windsor. Among his numerous books of poems are: Old Enemy Juice (1988), The Unsaid (1992), Hearthedral: A Folk-Hermetic (1996), White Porcupine (2007) and The Little Seamstress (2010). As well as his GG-winning Killdeer (2011), Trouble Sleeping (2000) was nominated for a GG, while An Oak Hunch (2005) made the Griffin Poetry Prize 2006 Canadian Shortlist. He has taught at a number of colleges and universities in Canada, and has been a poet-in-residence at institutions across the country. Raised near Bobcaygeon, Phil Hall currently lives on Otty Lake (Perth), near Ottawa.
