Donald Winkler

Biography
Donald Winkler is a prolific filmmaker and literary translator. Besides winning a GG with Partita for Glenn Gould (2011), he won a GG for The Lyric Generation: The Life and Times of the Baby Boomers (1994) [La génération lyrique by François Ricard] and was a GG-finalist for Rose and Thorn (1989), a selection of Roland Giguère's poetry, and The World of the Gift (1999) [L'Esprit du don by Jacques T. Godbout and Alain Caillé]. His many films include Moshe Safdie: the Power of Architecture (2005), and Ode to a Requiem (2007). Born in Winnipeg, Donald Winkler currently lives in Montréal.
