Biography
Charles Foran is the author of 10 books, including The Last House of Ulster (GG finalist, 1995) and the novels Carolan’s Farewell and House on Fire. His GG-winning Mordecai: The Life & Times (2011) previously won the Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction and the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction. He recently co-wrote the TV documentary Mordecai Richler: The Last of the Wild Jews, which won a 2011 Gemini Award. Charles Foran is the current president of PEN Canada. He lives in Peterborough, Ontario.
